The past week has definitely been an eventful week. Maybe it was not directly eventful for me but it certainly has been an eventful week for the people around me. Thus, what has happened has affected me in so many ways possible.
I’ve never been a great photographer or musician. I’ve never been known for being humorous or entertaining. For many people, expressing their feelings can occur through different ways. For me, it has always been with the written word. Admittedly, not always done at top quality but I do try.
It’s the half way mark into semester two and in just slightly over a month, I will be back home. I miss so many things such as my dog, my super fast broadband Internet, my Astro Beyond and of course my family.
Still, I’ve never really felt that homesick since I came to Melbourne early this year. Maybe it’s because I have made good friends here, or I talk to my “old” friends every other day or that my Blackberry messenger has kept me within close digital proximity from my family. Either way, I’ve been fortunate enough to feel comfortable almost instantaneously.
When I go back Malaysia in November, I’m going back with the realization that things are going to be different. Some of my very good friends aren’t going to be there to go for a midnight drink anymore. Which is funny because you never really expect the last time you see your friends to be the last time. Every handshake to every conversation you have with them always seem so timeless and is when they are not there that you feel the gap that has been left behind.
But this is life isn’t it? Every move forward leads to change, but it doesn’t have to be bad changes. It just means opportunities have arises for a few of the people you care for and they relish it.
It would be unfair to deny them this opportunity as they have had the kind heart to support me when I embarked on my journey to Australia.
Till then,
