Personality Profile: Ananda Krishnan

In the mist of Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan's surprising bid to take over Newcastle United, I have decided to put a short biodata on who he is and what he has achieve.

Although I am sure most of you know who he is but for this post is for those who have been living under a rock.

Born in 1983 to in Brickfields Kuala Lumpur.

Attended the University of Melbourne for his degree in Political Science.

Attended Harvard University to complete his Masters in Business Administration.

First entrepreneurial venture was oil trading, setting up Exoil Trading, which went on to purchase oil drilling consessions in various countries.

Currently he has business in the entertainment industry:

2. Space (MEASAT)
3. Shipping (Bumi Armada)
4. Telecommunications (Maxis, Aircel)
5. Movie Houses (TGV multiplex theatres)
6. Lottery Business (Pan Pool Malaysia)

Now you start to realise how much you play a role in Ananda's wealth don't you?

Today he is worth US$7.4 Billion making him the third richest man in South East Asia and number 119 in the world. Quite an achievement I say considering the world consists of more 6 BILLION people.

In addition to being a media mogul, Ananda is also said to be the man who suggested to our former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir the idea of the Petronas Twin Towers which is now a significant landmark within our country and continent.

All the information given above is only just some of the great things Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan has achieved in life. To list everything down would be nearly impossible as he has achieved so many and is still achieving. I honestly hope that the deal with Newcastle United will go through as it will raise Malaysia's awareness and "status" within the global community.
