Day 3 of my short trip to the Gold Coast began similarly to day 2 with an awakening rushing for time only to be fooled by the obscenely bright sun at 4:30am. That was followed by a trip down to the buffet and subsequently to the golf course at Glades.
My partner for the day, Mr Wong Wey Hwa of Huawei.
After a horrible round of golf (in spite of getting one par), we headed back home for a short rest before the real adventure had begun:
Introducing Mr Chief Operating Officer of Maxis, Jean-Pascal (JP) with some of the sponsors:
The winners for the actual golf tournament
But it had two queen size bed as opposed to the super king we shared during our first couple of nights!
Here's some pictures of Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast:
And of course, how could I not visit the beach? After all this is what the Gold Coast thrives on!
Overall, the Gold Coast trip was a real culture shock. Considering I've only been to city centre areas such as Sydney, Melbourne and a little bit of Brisbane, coming to the Gold Coast made me realise that Australia has much more to offer than just high rise buildings with surprisingly clean air.
The Gold Coast is full of hotels, casinos, souvenir shops and beaches. While it may not be a place I see myself working or even retiring in the near future, it is indeed a place I loved to return to for another short holiday. Maybe next summer with friends? Anyone?
Till then.
(The Living Legend is looking forward to Beijing)
