Since I began this blog, I have seen the changes and developments in myself, in my style of writing, in my maturity and more importantly I have seen myself grow up.
This blog began as a place where I could rant, complain, bitch and nobody could care or comment. But then again, in this information age, freedom of speech is everything. That basically means whatever I said here could and possibly would receive feedback both negative and positive.
And I guess that's where everything goes wrong isn't? It starts out as a opinion and then the next thing you know you are in a war of words or in this case a "war of blogs" with peers or in some instance, people that you do not even know.
I have seen my enough of this to know that the dominance of the Internet is becoming more distinct.
So how do we regulate this? or do we even regulate this?
The Internet has been a blessing and a curse altogether. It has provided us with the world's largest medium of communication but it has also provided us with spyware, viruses and at times an overload of information.
Since my arrival in Australia a couple months earlier, I have tried my best to keep with the ongoings in my home country through news portals, the word of mouth as well as through social media (Twitter & Facebook).
From what I can see, politics is still the hot topic and the fight between Barisan Nasional and the Opposition is stronger than ever.
Current examples of ongoing politics would be the Hulu Selangor by-elections or the dispute of whether we are Malaysians or Race (Chinese, Indian, Malay) first.
It is indeed heated times and embarrassing times as well. Many Malaysians in Melbourne are at the brink of doing hairdressing, cooking or even taxi driving as a way of avoiding returning to the country.
I can only hope by the time I return to my beloved country, things will be a little less "big talk" and a little more "walk"
Till then, here's a link to a video of another Malaysian overseas but still staying true to his roots:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLhY-TT3EFk&feature=related
Melbourne University Night Market
(The Living Legend will try his best to blog in Malay if not at least keep some "Malay essence" in his posts)
